What If?

What if that day 10 years ago,
was only just a dream?
And all the sorrow that we shed
was just a mistake it seems.

What if you were really here
at your daughter’s side?
To walk her down the aisle
The day she became a bride.

And what if you were here
To guide your only son,
To give him all your wisdom
As a young man he’s become.

What if you were really here
And I could feel your warm embrace?
Would it take away the loneliness,
Which my heart it has incased?

What if you had been here
To hold us up in our defeats?
And what if you’d of been here
To cheer at each hurdle we would meet?

And what if you were here,
To take away our pain?
Would we all be different?
Or maybe just a bit more sane?

What if you had not left us,
In such a hurried haste?
Would you know the impact
Upon our hearts you placed?

What if we’d of had the chance
To have you just one more day?
What is it that our hearts,
To you… would want to say?

Please my love don’t leave me
Stay and grow old with me tomorrow,
Daddy we love you, please don’t go
How will we rise above the sorrow?

If I Could

If I could pick a star
Just for you and me.
I’d fly upon…
a bluebirds wing
for just a chance to see.

If I could predict the future
Just for you and me,
I’d look within
a crystal ball
and see a dream of we.

If I could write a story
Just for you and me.
I’d pave a
Road to happiness
With words you’d want to read.

If I could move the oceans
Just for you and me,
I’d build a boat
And set sail
And my heart to you I’d bring.

If I could paint a rainbow
Just for you and me.
I’d paint it high…
Up in the sky
And meet you in the middle.

If I could…
for you and me…

I would.

Manhunt

I’m geared up and ready for the hunt of my life,
With the experience needed to
Trap this man beast with very little strife.

I put on my makeup, my heals, and my sheers,
I’m locked and I’m loaded
For the hunt for this “man beast” I fear.

I’m armed and I’m dangerous with my favorite perfume,
So you better watch out man beast,
When I walk in the room!

I’ve got all the know-how and the skill
To hunt down this man beast
And go in for the kill!

It’s awful out there; it’s not for the faint-hearted
Someone has to do it,
I better get started!

Don’t go! It’s dangerous! They all say,
Stay home where it's safe and warm
Please, if you may.

Pffftt, I’ll not hear it, I’ve got it all mapped
This beast they call man
Can surely be trapped!

I head for the car with all of my gear
Look out man beast!
It’s me you should fear!

I rev up the engine, and never look back
Man beast beware!
I’ll cut you no slack!

You

I close my eyes and I see you,
I drive endless miles and I feel you.
I run the streets to forget you
But you are always there.

IF

If I were an engine…
Would you rev me?

If I were a game…
Would you play me?

If I were a song…
Would you hear me

If I were a word…
Would you define me?

If I were a red light…
Would you stop for me?

If I were a lollipop…
Would you lick me?

If I were the ocean…
Would you ride my waves?

If I were champagne…
Would you savor my sweet taste?

If I were a penny…
Would you pick me up?

If I were a mountain…
Would you move me?

If I were a light…
Would you turn me on?

If I were a storm…
Would you ride me out?

If I were a nail…
Would you hammer me?

If I were the ace of spades…
Would you play me?

If I were a number…
Would you divide me?

If I were a convertible…
Would you take down my top?

If I were a fantasy…
Would you make me real?

If I were a battery…
Would you charge me?

If I were an IP address…
Would you ping me?

If I were a book…
Would I be well read?

If I were a song…
Would you sing me?

If I were the dark…
Would you be lost in me?

If I were a bad habit…
Would you get rid of me?

If I were a ship…
Would you pass me in the night?

If I were a mistake…
Would you repeat me?

If I were a candle…
Would you light my fire?

If I were a dumbbell…
Would you pump me?

If I were a riddle…
Would you try to figure me out?

If I were chocolate…
Would I melt inside your mouth?

If I were a watch…
Would you wind me up?

If I were a ladybug…
Would you set me free?

I Have To

I have to. . .
Look the other way
When thoughts of you
Stir inside my head, and

I have to. . .
Not rush to answer
When your call
Rings my telephone.

I have to not want you. . . . not need you.

I have to. . .
Stop the dreaming
When you consume
My restless nights, and

I have to. . .
Escape far away
When your power
Pulls me to your embrace.

I have to not want you. . . . not need you.

I have to. . .
Say goodbye, farewell
When you devour
My every thought, and

I have to. . .
Not look back
When I hear you
Call my name.

I have to not want you . . .not need you

It's Not

It's not the sum of what once was,
it’s where we stand today.
The walls we've built, the paths we've taken
are a part of yesterday.

It's not the treasures from the past
that brightens each new day.
It's the heart, the soul, this very moment
that all comes into play.

It's not what you say or what you do,
it’s the fears I've built within.
That blocks those paths; that builds those walls;
it’s a fight I plan to win.

It's not the memories that I fear,
it’s walking that thin line.
To face those fears, to feel again,
it’s just a matter of time.

Desire

Beauty intensified,
strong clean lines
magnified
by the early
morning light.

My senses
engulf nature
as it is.
But my eyes
only see you.

So bold,
so strong,
hanging on.
Fighting for
a chance.

You elude me.
But your
magnetism
only draws
me closer.

As I move
closer, yearning
to hold you,
compelling you
to give unto me.

All that
you are,
resists…
and turns
the other way.

I persist.
You are
almost in
my thirsting
grasp.

And then
in a snap!
You are gone
in hurried
haste.

My determination
cannot be broken.
I shall return
With even more
desire.

Baby, don’t
you fret!
Next week
I’ll bring my
Trilene 12 pound test!

A Dream Come True!

If I could reach up to the sky
And pick a dream come true.
The dream that I would pick
Would be that dream of you.

If I could take that dream
From that sky so blue,
I’d wish, and wish, and wish
And make that dream come true.

I’d grab that dream from above
And hold it oh so tight.
I’d close my eyes and think of you
And know it would be right.

I would live this dream today
And make my life anew
And never have to dream again,
This dream I have of you.

But life is not a dream come true,
It’s not a dream at all.
But if I could reach up to the sky,
I’d pick you from them all.
